The Fair’s in Town!

It’s that time of year again… The OC Fair is officially open!

The Orange County Fair, also known as the OC Fair, takes places annually in Costa Mesa, California. Located at the OC Fair & Event Center, this summer event lasts a whole 23 days and is jam-packed with fun for the whole family. This year, the fair is open from July 15-August 14 every Wednesday-Sunday from Noon-Midnight Wednesday-Friday and 10am-Midnight on Saturdays and Sundays.

You can check out the OC Fair’s official website at for official dates and prices, parking information and ticketing, but in the meantime, we’ve compiled a list of some of the event’s main draws and attractions.

  1. The Carnival

When it comes to orchestrating a fun fair outing for the kids, the carnival section is right up their alley! Carnival Midway Tickets can be purchased and are valid for rides and games. In total, there are over 60 different rides and attractions to choose from.

  1. The Action Sports Arena

If rides aren’t for you and your family, perhaps the Action Sports Area will be of interest. Each day, the OC Fair offers viewership of an action-packed event. On any given day, these sports range from motorcycle racing and demolition derbies, to bull riding and other various extreme rodeo sports. Seats of this venue are offered on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to plan your day carefully if you’re expecting to catch one of these shows.

  1. The OC Fair Food

Some people eat to live, and some people live to eat. If you’re one of the latter, than the food the OC Fair has to offer may be just for you! They’ve got everything from deep-fried treats to your favorite BBQ delights. And FYI – for all you foodies out there – from Noon-4pm every Thursday, you can “taste your way through the Fair” for only $2 a taste! The food vendors and menu changes weekly, but luckily you can take a look at the OC Fair website or their mobile app to check out the current week’s list.

  1. The Free Entertainment

Free entertainment? Who wouldn’t be down for that? Aside from the Action Sports Arena, the OC Fair offers several daily and nightly shows that range from your usual live music to hypnotism and acrobatics. Turkey stampedes and pig races can also be watched at select times and days. When it comes to free entertainment that’s fun for the family, the list is really an endless one. Hit up the OC Fair website, mobile app or even box office to see what’s being offered on the day you’re planning to attend.
